One of the leading coated steel manufacturers, Pohang Coated Steel Co., Ltd. (POCOS) was founded in 1988 at Pohang Steel Complex with 240,000 tons annual capacity of galvanized and aluminized steel sheets. More than 10 years of experience and dedication in the field gave us the chance to acquire new facilities of prepainting line and steel service center in 1999, which has 270,000 tons and 600,000 tons of annual capacity respectively.
In our Galvanizing Factory, we produce both Galvanized Steel Sheets(ZINCOSTA), which is widly used for construction, automobile parts, pipe, color sheet, and so on. and Aluminized Steel Sheets (ALCOSTA), which is mainly used for car exhaust systems, home-appliances, and other heat-related goods. Especially, ALCOSTA, has a good reputation and is very famous in the world market and domestic for its quality.
In addition, we produce various prepainted items on our Continuous Coating Line(CCL). The items painted on Galvanized, Cold Rolled, and Alumininum Steel Sheets are mainly used for construction and home-appliances. Recently, we have been concentrating on brand-new, value-added items such as Laminated Steel Sheets and PET Steel Sheets decorated with beautiful patterns and various embossed finish films, in order to meet diversified customer needs. Meanwhile, we are continuing to develop the niche market for Prepainted sheets.
Our steel service center operates and produces skelp coils(narrows width coils) and cut-to-length sheets with 4 shearing machines and 3 slitters for almost all flat rolled items such as HR, CR, Gi, and Aluminized.
